The first ever indictment of a former president is, of course, the indictment by

a New York rancher of former President Donald Trump,

in the infamous Hush Money Case involving Stormy Daniels,

and to a lesser degree, a Playboy model named Karen McDougall.

The charges are not yet publicly known, but Republicans have already rushed to his defense.

Even among those eyeing a potential challenge to his presidential run in 2024,
