So Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had to put his planned overhaul of the country's

judicial system on the back burner at least through the holidays.

As chaos in his country scrapped any hope he might have had to rapidly push what is turned

into a very divisive plan past Israel's legislature, the Kinesa.

First there was the unprecedented backlash against the government, tens of thousands of

Israelis poured into the streets to forcefully condemn what they saw as a overreach from

the executive impacting the power of the Supreme Court.

And then a top member of Netanyahu's cabinet, Defense Minister Yoav Galant, was fired

by BB for speaking out against the overall.

He warned that it would spur deeper divisions in the country's military and that had become

an issue.

Unlike the way our military works, reservists in Israel are an integral part of the day-to-day

security of the country.

And in the wake of the firing of the Defense Minister, Israel's largest union group launched

a general strike and they warned that their coordinated effort could plunge Israel into

economic chaos and that seemed to be the final straw for Netanyahu who did vowed to postpone

the vote for at least a month.

And of course all those domestic troubles pile onto an increasingly perilous situation

in its conflict with the Palestinians as violence in the West Bank continues to rise.

So let's unpack this situation and figure out how did we get to this perilous moment in
