Hello there, I'm Chuck Todd. I just got off the meat the press set on here on Sunday.

0:09.6

Just wrapped up interviews with Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, White House Senior Advisor

0:13.0

Sutter Gritchman sitting here now with Sarah Blackwell. She's our senior broadcast producer

0:16.8

at Meat Press. We talk a little bit about the show we just wrapped up, what we've learned

0:21.1

from it. So Sarah, I have to say, you know, we do these things after the show and you're

0:26.5

like, okay, what did you learn? I think the big thing I really learned today is that we're

0:31.5

weeks and maybe months away from this deal. Like whatever artificial deadline and urgency we felt,

0:37.2

I don't know about you. I'm suddenly thinking, oh my God, this is healthcare again.

0:41.3

That's right. And I think Bernie Sanders said 1.5 trillion is at the beginning of a negotiation,

1:05.4

1:11.6

understanding, right? And they kind of knew that. What I found interesting is from the White House

1:18.1

perspective. And I'm curious what you thought. I get the sense they're not quite sure how this

1:24.3

is going to go. I think they're not sure. That's right. It sounds like they don't know what to fight for.

1:29.4

And so when I hear Biden's going on the road to sell his plan, I wonder what exactly is he planning

1:34.2

to sell? And it seems like, as you were saying, you know, this is not about a number, not about a

1:38.5

number, not about a number, but it seems like the only thing that's been consistent is that everyone

1:42.9

is talking about a number, whether it's, you know, on the record or off the record, because it's

1:49.3

not clear exactly what else they're looking to sell. The other part of this is sort of,
