Hello there, I'm Chuck Todd. I just got off the meat the press set. We wrapped up interviews

with Congressman Jamie Raskin. He's a member of the January 6th Committee, the Democrat

from Maryland. He of course led the second impeachment. And former Treasury Secretary Larry

Summers, who essentially has been the leading seer these days of where our economy is headed.

I'm sitting here now with Peter Alexander, my colleague at NBC, that's one of the chief

White House correspondents that we have here. Peter, it is funny we're in this, in some

ways the show couldn't capture how consequential this last seven days has been. Whether it's

interest, you know, all these events that actually have been two more January 6th hearings

that bring this, continue to bring this closer to the president raising questions about

criminal liability. The Federal Reserve, the war in Ukraine is not going well. We still

have, we haven't even gotten a couple of rulings that are coming from this Supreme Court

and another gun ruling. This White House seems to, the events are dictating what they do,

they don't get to dictate what they want to do. And there was something about that presidential

interview with AP that screamed that. They are, they look, you're always reactive in a

White House. We know that. You're always reactive, but you don't want to look over reactive,

but they look like events are controlling them. They have no control over events.

No, that's right. And as you noted in the show today, I mean, it sort of felt Jimmy Carter

Malaisish, right? He said Americans are very, very, very upset. And it captures, and it captures

the way folks are feeling right now, but it doesn't help on the president is saying

that type of stuff. Before the show, I was talking to some Democratic lawmakers. I made

note of this, but a couple of the frustrations really struck me. The ones, you know, they

said, what did they say? They said, be decisive, own it, show some strength. And one of the
