After calling races for five days on the Chili Bowl track public address system, announcer Blake Anderson still has enough energy to help me break down Christopher Bell’s exciting win in Tulsa.

All right, everybody, welcome back to another edition of the Untitled Jeff Glock podcast.

0:23.7

It's a Chili Bowl edition, and I'm here overlooking the track that's getting torn up right now at the Tulsa Expo Center with Blake Anderson, who just called the Chili Bowl on the PA.

0:35.8

Blake, how are you?

0:36.8

I'm great. It's one of my favorite days of the year. The Chili Bowl is one of my favorite

0:40.9

events of the season. It's kind of one of those events where we get to see our friends from

0:44.1

everywhere, whether they race non-wing sprint cars, wing sprint cars, modified, late models,

0:49.3

pavement, our NASCAR buddies that get to come back. So it's a pretty special race to me. So Blake, you've been talking

0:54.9

pretty much nonstop since Tuesday, I guess afternoon. I've seen you out in the middle of the track

standing on the platform and there's so much noise going on and yet you're talking away in the microphone

1:07.6

and I can only, I'm not in the stand so I can only hear you when the car

1:16.3

action like this it's a lot of mental preparation I guess a lot of work goes into getting ready for

1:21.1

the chili bowl but I'm lucky enough that I get to announce sprint car races for a living so I think

that kind of keeps my voice in shape.

1:29.1

And that's a big thing.

1:29.9

You think about from the same point of like running to get in shape.

1:34.1

Announcing kind of is similar to that where when you don't do it for a while, you can't go as long.

1:39.1

So when you do it a lot, your voice stays in shape.

1:42.2

And I think I was looking back when I was talking to my dad

1:44.8

this past weekend, this is my 36th straight month I've called a race. So it just kind of, it's what

1:51.4

you do for a living. So it's old habit, I guess. That's pretty cool. Well, this was obviously my first

1:57.1

Chili Bowl. And you and other people in the dirt community were extremely welcoming and
