Hey, this is John Gordon with another positive mindset Monday.

And today I want to share my favorite way to stay positive.

And it's from Dr. James Gills.

He's the only person on the planet to complete six double Ironman triathlons.

That's a double Iron Man, which means you do an iron man, and a day later you do another one.

If you don't know what an iron man consists of, it actually consists of running a marathon,

swimming 2.4 miles, and riding a bike for 112 miles.

With a double iron man, you do it the next day after you finish the first one.

And Dr. James Gills did this six times,

and the last time he did it, he was 59 years old. And he was asked how he did it. He said this,

I've learned to talk to myself instead of listen to myself. He said, if I listen, I hear the fear,

the negativity, the doubt, all the reasons why I can't

finish this race. But if I talk to myself, I could feed myself with the words and the

encouragement that I need to keep on moving forward. So often we're listening to those negative

thoughts, those negative voices, and the key is to talk to ourselves with words of life, words of encouragement.
