When I was a kid watching Eddie Murphy on Silent Live, I was like, one day I hope to be the

sand of comics and dads trying to make sense of American politics. Fortunately, we get some help

from people who are on the front lines defending and reinventing our democracy.

And sometimes we get some help from place you wouldn't expect. We look all think about the fact

that when you're on reality TV, you have this big responsibility. Portia Williams is a big name

in reality TV. She's one of the stars of the real housewives of Atlanta. A show I've never seen,

but I hear it has a fair dose of pettiness and backstabbery and a soup song of Tom Fulery.

Is there some Tom Fulery in there too? There's a little Tom Fulery.

Portia is also the granddaughter of the Reverend Hosea Williams, a civil rights leader and a friend

and collaborator of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. And in 2020, Portia traveled from her home in Atlanta,

took a tucky to demand justice from Breonna Taylor, as she took her Atlanta with her.

I've got some gangster. I'm going to go hard for you. And to me, this really no limit if I feel like

what I'm fighting for is right. We talk about her late-night self-education in politics in American

history. We talk about civil disobedience and with the courts, we talk about her grandfather.

A lot of time when I was out there and you know, based in danger and etc. I would think about

him and I knew and I would try to put myself in this mindset and just be strong and keep moving

forward for the purpose. The purpose is justice and before we get into our conversation with
