Tonight, I'll be reading Pollyanna, 2, Chapter 4 and 5 by Eleanor H. Porter.

In the previous chapters, Miss Polly received the request that she might home her newly orphaned niece, Pollyanna, at which she gave

her maid Nancy the immediate, if not begrudging, orders to prepare for her arrival.

The task of meeting Pollyanna was given to Nancy and driver Timothy, with Nancy being quite nervous.

However, the shiningly positive attitude of Pollyanna on arrival was almost overwhelming.

And just before they returned to the house, Nancy had slight apprehensions for the stern welcome

she was about to receive from her aunt.

Now that we're caught up with the story so far, let's get ourselves ready for sleep.

Start by taking a deep, relaxing breath and settle your body in whatever way feels

most comfortable.

Miss Polly Harrington did not rise to meet her niece.

She looked up from her book, it is true, as Nancy and the little girl appeared in the sitting-room doorway, and she held

out her hand with duty written large on every coldly extended finger.
