She's not using the language of populism as so many conservative or right of centre

And talking of language, one of the things that really struck me this week

was the verbal agility needed from the Prime Minister

to justify standing on a head and embracing the idea of an energy price cap,

an idea which the Tories had once condemned as Marxist.

Sometimes people say to me that doing something like that doesn't sound very conservative,

but actually my response to that is when it comes to looking at supporting working people,

what matters is not an ideology, what matters is doing what you believe to be right.

No politician ever wants to be seen to be ideological.

They always want to advertise that they're doing what's right

or doing what's in the national interest.
