For the 17th of September, I'm John Dickerson in Washington with David Plotz.

Emily Bazelon is in New York City, and we're going to try to spend the show going through the results of the primary and what that may or may not mean for the general election in November.

And then we're going to talk about the Tea Party and Christine O'Donnell in that conversation.

And then about John Boehner and Barack Obama and their battle.

And we'll talk about a few other things, including the fight over tax cuts.

Okay, Emily, David, which one of you wants to sum up the entire primary season in one, do my job,

which is to say wrap everything that's happened in the primary season into a tidy narrative through line that people can hold and talk about with their friends in a knowing way, which of the two of you want to do that?

Emily will do the first sentence. I'll do the second. She'll do the third. Oh, excellent. Tea party gives both parties fits.
