We now have the verdict in the Derek Chauvin trial and one way to view this guilty verdict

in the murder trial of George Floyd is to see it as perhaps the last major unresolved

moment of 2020 from the presidential election to the recession to the coronavirus.

Each of these challenges is in the rear view mirror or trying to make its way there and

now the case into George Floyd's murder is finally over but that doesn't mean the

larger issue is over because the larger challenge isn't the question of what happens next

really moves from Minneapolis to Washington where the question of police reform is now

in the hands of President Biden and Congress.
