We just wrapped up this morning's Meet the Press.

I'm still on set here as we talk.

In fact, on today's broadcast, we started with a roundtable on police reform from with

Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar, the Baltimore Police Commissioner Michael Harrison, and

Keith Mays, he's the associate professor at the University of Minnesota, focusing on

African American studies and African studies.

And I also had an exclusive interview with Dr. Francis Collins, he's the director of the

National Institutes of Health, Minnesota Terrific Roundtable, Malcolm Gladwell, Peggy Nune,

Jean Robinson, and my colleague Morgan Radford.

Look, I think the best way to start off sort of understanding the show this week was the

question of whether is this a Soma moment.

Jim Clyburn, in a piece that we kicked off the show with, we reached out to him and some

other prominent African Americans asking them about their feelings in the moment after

the show and verdict, and he introduced the idea that maybe this could be a Soma moment

to think about, and then it sort of reversed the question.

What is Soma today without the Voting Rights Civil Rights Act passing in 1964?

And that's the question.

This is going to lead to the passage of police reform.

And I think that's what was hanging in there.

Is this a Soma moment or not?
