I'm your host, retired NYPD Sergeant Bill Cannon, a 27-year veteran of the

NYPD. You know, folks, this is right in my wheelhouse, as I call it, as they call it,

as this is what I used to do in Manhattan North Homicide Squad. This is what my detectives

used to do, and it's called interview and interrogation.

And it's a very subtle art and science behind interview and interrogation. And the detectives

from the Orange County Sheriff's Office and the Kissimmee, I think I'm saying it wrong,

Kissimmee police department. They did an outstanding job. They differed a little bit,

and I'll discuss what I would have done a little bit differently than them. But I was

very impressed with their professionalism. I was very impressed with their professionalism.

I was very impressed with their knowledge.

I was very impressed with their patience in the interview process.

Many of you, many of you civilians that can't imagine themselves interviewing a murderer who you know did it,

who you know absolutely killed this little girl,

and sitting in the same room as him and keeping you cool

and treating him like just a regular, everyday human being, you know, regular everyday human being, you know,

an everyday human being with respect,

like human beings deserve respect and dignity.

And despite the fact that you know he murdered a little girl,

you, the detective, are still giving him respect and dignity.

And when you look even at this picture on the screen, Stefan Stearns is a despicable character.

He really is. And if you notice, the detective's trying to look at him right in his eyes,
