And we're going to take on today Morton's neuroma. What is that?

Well, thank you for having me again. It's very kind of you.

Morton's neuroma. So when patients of you. Morton's enrolma.

So when patients present with the mortons aroma,

they typically describe a pain on the ball of the foot.

And usually between the third and fourth metatarsals.

So pain on the ball of the foot, the bottom of the forefoot,

and typically it's a burning sensation.

It's horrible.

There's a burning sensation and then it starts to affect two toes.

That's the classification.

So burning sensation of a ball of the foot affecting the third and fourth toe, sometimes the second and third, never really the fifth toe, never really the first toe. So burning

sensation affecting two toes, tingling, numbness and sometimes like a burning, shooting pain

into the toes. How do you get that? Really, really good question. And there's a couple of

theories out there actually. So first of all, what a neuroma is is so a neuroma is like an interdigital thickening of a nerve

so you've got nerves obviously that come into the feet and between the third and fourth

metatarsal you've got like an interdigital thickening of that nerve and the

thickening it's it gets a little bit inflamed and swollen so I don't't like calling them Morton's neuromas or neuromas.
