0:33.2	And while I was listening to it, I was, well, of course, I was reminded of the 60s and everything that went on back then.
0:40.3	So I got to thinking about the fact that it has now been over two years since I've podcasted a talk by Dr. Timothy Leary.
0:47.9	And that's been way too long.
0:50.7	Now, as hard as it is for me to grok this fact, my guess is that a significant number of our fellow slawners have little or no idea about who Timothy Leary was, and of the huge impact that he has had on the worldwide psychedelic community.
1:07.6	The talk that I'm about to play was actually recorded sometime in 1980, and in it you're going to hear him say that already on college campuses, most of the students had no idea about who he was.
1:20.9	Now, let me make this as clear as I can. If Dr. Timothy Leary had never done all that he did, you and I wouldn't be here in the salon right now.
1:30.6	If you take the time to go back to my podcast number 369, you will hear Dr. Leary most graciously pass the baton to Terrence McKenna,
1:40.7	who then says that had it not been for Tim Leary, he never would have become the person that we now know today as Terence McKenna.
1:49.3	And without McKenna, well, there are no Psychedelic Salon podcast because most likely I would, well, I'd probably just be an old stoner living somewhere in the swamps of Florida.
2:01.9	Needless to say, I owe a lot to these two guys.
2:05.4	My guess is that there has never been a U.S. president who has even heard of Terence McKenna, let
2:11.3	alone knew anything about him.
2:13.6	Shocking, isn't it?
2:15.0	But even more shocking to me is the fact that in the worldwide psychedelic community today,
2:21.4	Terrence McKenna is probably better known than is Tim Leary, who was a very well-known person by several U.S. presidents,
