0:23.6	And today we get to join Shona Home as she interviews Aslam Old Coyote, and they're going to discuss, among other things, the people involved in the elements of a peyote session.
0:35.6	This was particularly interesting to me because,
0:39.6	well, that's a ceremony that I've never participated in. And maybe this is the right time for me to
0:45.7	pass along another little thought that I've had. Recently, I spoke about the famous Alan Watts quote,
0:52.2	once you get the message, hang up the phone. In truth, well, I have a
0:57.0	problem with the statement in that it implies that there's only one message to get. Now I'm sure
1:02.6	that our practicing psychonauts will tell you that there are a great many messages to be gotten.
1:08.0	So where's the middle ground here, you ask? What if we were to change
1:12.5	the word message to the word answer? Then it reads, once you've received an answer, stop calling
1:19.1	other numbers. Here's what I mean by that. Over 15 years ago, I first began participating
1:26.8	in ayahuasca ceremonies, and one of the members of our group began trying to convince me to join him in a peyote ceremony.
1:34.9	For reasons that I can't explain, well, it just didn't feel right to me, and so for a couple of years I politely turned him down each time that he would call and tell me about an upcoming circle.
1:46.0	Eventually, well, he became quite persistent and was almost badgering me to join the group.
1:52.0	So I took that question about whether I should try peyote, and I took that question into an ayahuasca ceremony and asked Lady A about it. And her answer was very clear. I had made a call and the call was answered.
2:06.8	Messages began to come in through the ayahuasca ceremonies that I'd been taking part in.
2:11.8	And what I learned that night was that while there is an infinite number of messages that can come through via a particular substance,
2:19.3	what I think Watts was maybe talking about is that once you get an answer from an entity that you trust,
