The Michael Berry Show is on the air. both our morning and evening show,

our evening show, whether live or on podcast.

And we're live or on podcast.

And we take great pains to provide two different shows,

some overlap of the topics, but not to repeat ourselves.

Today I begin the program with an apology for violating that rule

even if only slightly.

And that is because I will begin the show today

as I began the show this morning because it's important.

Noting that today is National Purple Heart Day. The Purple Heart is the highest honor you can receive as a

member of the military if you have been wounded or killed in battle.

It started at the direction of President George Washington,

who himself was the leader of our military prior to that.

That's how we earned our independence.

It started as the badge of military merit and 10 years after World War I was over.

The process was begun to honor those who had been wounded or died in World War I with what came to be known as the

Purple Heart.

It had always been a heart made. the has won an honor of this or that type.

They're a pilot, they're a crossfeiter, they'll tell you about it.
