Good morning and welcome to the Independent Republic of Mike Graham right here on Talk Radio. Christmas is coming. The goose is getting fat, but you won't be allowed to have more than six people in your

house or in your flat. You see what I did there? It's quite good that, isn't it? I'm quite proud of that.

I know it's pretty simple, pretty straightforward, but the message, I have to say, is absolutely

and utterly ridiculous. This morning, the government's COVID restrictions look even madder than

ever. Sways of high-vis jacket wearing prefects patrolling our streets demanding that we break it up or move on can only lead to civil unrest and general frustration in our communities.

And talk of a curfew and further limitations on travel are simply absurd, aren't they?

And this idea that you'll be sitting around the Christmas dinner table having your turkey, your stuffing having your roast potatoes having

your roasted parsnips and maybe even preparing yourself for some Christmas pudding

getting the lighter fuel ready for heaven's sake there's a guy at the door

oi how many people you got in there on Christmas day seriously are you having a laugh

for heaven's sake, this morning,

we'll be asking you just how much more of this nonsense can you actually take? I've often said

it if there was a second lockdown, I don't believe many people would actually adhere to it.

But by attempting to nudge us all into subservience and fortune, Boris Johnson is surely

risking the exact opposite effect. It's now very obvious that the increase in infections is amongst the young,

those between 20 and 29 years of age.

There are figures now available for that,

precisely the group that is at the lowest risk of dying from COVID,

for which there are also scientific figures to look at.

The latest move will do nothing to encourage people back to work.
