Hello it's Antrice and welcome to another episode of the savvy painter

podcast. Have I mentioned how excited I am to be home in California? I'll tell you though I am experiencing a little bit of reverse

culture shock. I'll give you an example. This year both my mother and my father-in-law turned 80 years old. So the weekend before we left we had this big

party for my father-in-law. Family came in from all over the country, his brothers and cousins, plus countless children and grandchildren.

We had so much fun.

But one thing about Argentina that I have not entirely adapted to.

Everything starts late and goes late.

At one point at this birthday party for an 80 year old, I thought, what is wrong with me?

I can barely keep my eyes open so I got up and went to the

kitchen to grab a glass of water and I looked at the clock 4 a.m. the birthday boy

looked a little bit sleepy too, but he was definitely doing better than me.

It's in the blood, I think, and he's a little bit wiser and more experienced.

He knew to prepare by taking a good long nap before the party.

Something I'm still learning to do.

So I don't know when we have the birthday party for my mom

if we're going to be up until 4 o'clock in the morning,

but it's one thing that I'm definitely looking forward to while I'm here.
