Last year at about this time the Sabby Painter podcast hit a huge milestone. I remember vividly exactly

where I was standing when it happened. I was in the middle of the parking garage at LAX.

My husband and I had driven down from Mammoth to pick up my

brother-in-law. He just arrived for a visit from Argentina. I very rarely pay attention

to the statistics of the show, but that day I was obsessed as my husband circled the parking lot I was

Obsessively hitting the refresh button on my phone after three long years the podcast was at 999,997 downloads.

My husband eased the car into a spot at the Tom Bradley Terminal. I hit refresh again.

We got out of the car and headed towards the elevator.

I hit refresh again and that's when I saw it.

A million downloads. It took me three years of God knows how many back and forth emails trying

to coordinate schedules and waking up at ridiculous predawn hours to record an

interview with another artist I really wanted on the show.

There were countless late nights editing audio because I couldn't afford to hire an editor.

Until finally, I just couldn't take it anymore and I hired one.

The editor that costs more than the rent at my first apartment after I graduated for college,

but is so worth it because it meant I could finally actually sleep in on the weekends.

It was a lot of hard work to get there, but I love doing it. I've gotten thousands of emails from

artists all over the world. I've heard some
