I'm Stuart Mandel, joined by Bruce Feldman on Selection Sunday for college football.

We are recording this pretty shortly after the playoff field has been announced.

We're not waiting on the full top 25, Bruce.

There was about 18 hours of manufactured drama that Alabama might sneak its way

into this thing, but at the end of the day, the committee did what I thought they would.

I wasn't entirely sure how they would order three and four, but we've got number one, Georgia

against number four Ohio State at the Peach Bowl in prime time on New Year's Eve.

The undercard, if you will, though it's still going to be a great game,

is number two Michigan against number three TCU in the Fiesta Bowl.

Do you have any qualms, questions about how that came together?

I don't because the number five team is Alabama.

And, you know, as they watched the show, ESPN had reporters all over the key sites.

And then Marty Smith, I think, is in Tuscaloosa.

And he was basically, it sounds like had, you know, Nick Saban talking points.

And there were, you know, Nick Saban had talked about, well, there was, they had lost two games basically on the last play, no, no blowout losses. And I just remember

thinking, well, you lost two games on the on the last play, but you also won a game against

a terrible Texas A&M team on the last play, too, and you barely survived Texas.

And by the way, that was actually your best win.

Whereas Ohio State, you know, winning at Penn State is better than anything.

Alabama is on a resume.

Also, Alabama has two losses.
