So why don't you turn with me to Matthew chapter 6 as we continue our, I'm calling it moseying through Matthew, because it's taken us a little while.

But man, what are you going to do?

The Sermon on the Mount, you can spend a lifetime studying this.

So we're just scratching the surface.

But I'd like to draw your attention to a little section of the Sermon on the Mount.

We'll look at this in its entirety on Wednesday.

There were two men talking together.

The first challenged the other.

If you're so religious, then let's hear you quote the Lord's Prayer.

I'll give you $10 if you can do it.

Well, the other guy responded. He said,

okay, now I lay me down to sleep. I pray my sword the Lord to keep. And if I should die before I

wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take. The guy shook his head and pulled out his wallet.

He said, man, I didn't think you had it in yet.

Do we know what real prayer looks like?

Or have we adopted more of an Americanized, church-ized, modern-day church-ized version of prayer?

And does some of our prayer actually resemble some of the prayers that Jesus actually had some negative things to say about it? As it turns out, there's a right way to pray and there's a wrong

way to pray. And you and I should be aware of that. There's a right way to pray. In fact, I'm kind of

one of those guys that I'm shocked at how relativism has crept into almost

every discipline of life.

You know, if it feels good, do it.

If it's good to you, then it's good to you.
