You know, when we're therapists, a lot of times we do like to know what we're doing.

But then when you move into a space where you're playing with kids, oftentimes we find that

it's therapeutic for us too, because then it asks us to step into roles that we wouldn't normally

play, and it really grows our flexibility.

So I've found that.

And I was an imaginative player.

Like I liked playing teacher and house and all of that stuff too when I was younger.

But I would also want to go to faraway places.

I'd want to like explore worlds that don't exist in reality.

Like I'd want to be like the princess and the, you know,

have to rescue the prince from the dragon and stuff and just

turn things on its head and do things that you can't really do in real life. And so I think

that's part of why I really enjoy going into pretend play with kids now and find it so transformative

for them. Like I think it's really healing and growth-inducing,

and there's so much that kids are learning and their emotional skills when they're playing,

you know, little pretend games that a lot of us just think are frivolous, but could actually
