Welcome back in Tiger fans, another week of play-by-play presented by our friends

at the advocates along with the illustrious Kent Low. I'm Chris Blair and we kind of update

you on what's happening athletically here at LSU.

Coming up later, we'll have some special guests talk about a very special day this past weekend

when the university and LSU athletics honored one of its best,

Simone Augustus, with the statue unveiling prior to LSU,

whipping up on Auburn inside the Merivitt Center.

Let's talk, we'll get to basketball in a minute, Kent,

but LSU gymnastics, as I like to say, in full swing now.

And, you know, Jay Clark was here just a couple of weeks back

and was talking about how they were going to schedule in such a way to prepare them

to get quality points, both home and away away and prepare for the postseason.

And he wasn't lying.

They opened the year at Utah.

Then the meet at Kentucky that we'll talk about, unfortunately, the Tigers suffer a costly injury.

And then this Monday afternoon on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, they host the number one team in Oklahoma inside the

Merivit Center. And, you know, I got to give it to this LSU gymnastics team, you know,

coming up short as far as winning in the first two meets and having that difficult night at

Rupp Arena against Kentucky, then being able to bounce back and really put on one

heck of a show and just came up short to the Sooners on Monday.

But a season high score against Oklahoma, 197-450, and just, you're right, just barely

missed without Kyah Johnson, who tore her Achilles in the Friday
