Great to be back with you, Tiger fans, another week of play-by-play, presented by our friends at The Advocate, along with the illustriouser of Kent Lowe.

I'm Chris Blair and Kent.

Kind of last week in the season premiere, we talked about the athletic season getting underway.

It is officially underway thanks to LSU soccer.

They got things started this past Thursday.

Again, a home match on Sunday.

And now volleyball later this week is going to jump into the fray, as we say,

and kick their season off so to speak

with really two solid back-to-back matches inside the Merrived Center so a little bit to cover

and as each week goes by we'll be covering more and more sports but soccer now early season

one and one one one won the Sunday match with Southern Miss.

My goodness, it was brutally hot out there for both of those matches,

especially Sunday at 4 o'clock in the afternoon.

You know, I think it was a little bit of survival of the fittest,

but LSU looked pretty good Sunday afternoon

and was able to get four goals off of Southern Miss.

They had their chances Thursday night against South Florida,

gave up an early goal and had several opportunities in the second half to get the equalizer, just couldn't do it.

But I think there was a tremendous improvement.

And I know Sean Hudson talking at halftime of the game on Sunday saw a lot she liked from match one to match two,

so that's a good thing.

A couple of more weeks of play before SEC play starts and they'll be at home this coming Sunday again for a match.
