And this is Mary Ann Sullivan. And this week's guest is Bridie Mann, the founder and executive director of Planted Society.

And she's going to tell us all about their plant base for the planet initiative and what it's like as someone who cares deeply about animals to work on getting people to understand the connections between animal agriculture and climate change and actually do something about it.

She's so cool. I just really enjoyed this chat.

Yeah, me too. I love the work that

she's doing. She's upbeat. Even though, you know, it was clear that she knows how bad everything is.

She just maintains like a really good attitude as far as I can tell. And I just think this is something

that there must be some people listening who really might have the opportunity and

the desire to get involved in this. It's a really positive way to work out your angst.

Totally. Totally. One way I am working out my angst of late, or it's causing the angst. I haven't figured it out.

Is this play I'm in and we literally open next week. So I'm in this play called POTUS at this

theater here in Rochester and I'm there like all the time right now. And it's funny because I love

when there's a synchronicity going on.

And like A, as I mentioned last week, another cast member is vegan. And she always brings me food

like every day. Oh yeah. That would be a plus. She brought me that plant-based Reese's pieces like one of the

Do you bring her things?

I made everyone in my cast a bracelet with like a word that they say in the play.

So it's not edible, but it's still cute.

Anyway, I have a line in it that refers to Carl Sagan and I was discussing with some people like are

the folks in the audience going to understand who Carl Sagan is? I was discussing this yesterday and

today I was looking at the notes for us to record and you included a quote from Carl Sagan,
