Here we are ladies and the gentlemen.

As I've often said already this week, we are at a crossroads and the Prime Minister needs to make sure he goes down.

The right fork in that particular crossroads of the road.

This morning I came into work on public transport for the first time

since March and I was shocked to discover how quiet it was, how utterly deserted the buses

of the trains are and how completely hopeless the economy has become because of the millions

of people who are simply refusing to return to work. Since I published a picture on Twitter

a little bit earlier on today. People have been arguing with each

other about why they love working from home, why they think they should be allowed to work from

home, why they think they will never come back to work in the city. It really is quite a depressing

situation and people really need to get a grip of themselves, I would say, and they need to get

to the point where they are travelling once again on public transport.

It's not scary. You're not going to die, you're not going to fall ill. You are simply going to actually get on a train and go to work.

And that is what work and people and life is all about. London is a ghost town right now and there is no sign of that changing despite government encouragement.

It is the case that companies are refusing to repopulate their offices. Our workers who are keen

to come back actually being told not to bother, that would seem to be part of the story.

And we need your help as ever on the Independent Republic. We need to know from you what you are

being told by the companies that you work for. What are your bosses saying to you? Are they saying to you, don't worry, you can just keep working from home and you don't have to

worry about coming in anymore because we will save a bunch of money. Well, guess what they're
