| 1:02.0 | We ended this morning by recognizing that a confrontation with the brevity and |
| 1:07.9 | frailty of our lives that doesn't find an answer in the provision that God the |
| 1:13.1 | Creator has made for us in Jesus will often paralyze us and introduces to |
| 1:18.8 | such a sense of futility that we will be tempted to try and compensate for that |
| 1:24.9 | sense of alienation by filling our lives with all kinds of things. Well that's |
| 1:30.8 | where we left it and it is from that point that we begin. Instead of approaching |
| 1:37.3 | it in that way verse 15 gives to us if you like the right perspective on |
| 1:43.3 | dealing with the passing nature of our lives and in the making of plans for our |
| 1:48.4 | lives. Instead of dealing with it in the way he has just outlined you ought |
| 1:54.4 | he says to say if it is the Lord's will we will live and do this or do that. We |
| 2:03.8 | need God to teach us that every day that we have on earth is a gift from him. It |
| 2:09.8 | is an evidence of his covenanted mercy to us and it is an indication of the |
| 2:15.3 | fact that he still has plans and purposes. We can't see all of God's purposes |
| 2:21.6 | and that is a mercy in itself but we can see that which he has chosen to reveal |
| 2:27.9 | and when we say if it is the Lord's will we're not moving immediately into a |
| 2:34.3 | realm that is unknown because God has in his revelation of himself identified |
