Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for, especially for a successful

recovery for little Olivia Keneally after her surgery today, for the healing of Damien,

for the repose of the soul of Christian Moffat, and that Margo will wake up.

And for this young woman named Sophie who had a stroke.

Now, in the sermon on the Mount, Jesus teaches, do not judge and you will not be judged yourselves.

Do not condemn and you will not be condemned yourselves. Do not condemn and you will not be condemned yourselves.

Grant pardon and you will be pardoned. Jesus says do not judge and do not condemn. What does he really mean?

God designed our intellect to make judgments or decisions. Recall that when we meditated on prudence, which is the

art of making good decisions, there were three steps. To deliberate, which means to gather all

the information, then to make a judgment. We must make a decision about what is the right thing

or the wrong thing to do, and then take

action. So all decisions require that we make judgments. We can and must judge ideas or

propositions. This is accurate or this is inaccurate. We can and must judge behaviors.

This is right or this is the wrong behavior.

However, we cannot judge persons.

This is a good person.

This is an evil person.

We can judge their ideas if they express them, and we can judge behaviors, because we can see

them, but we cannot judge or condemn people as evil.
