Summary

Pirates of the Caribbean is considered to be the last attraction that Walt Disney personally oversaw from beginning to end. This Disneyland classic opened in March of 1967, just a few months of Walt's passing, and has been an integral part of the park for over 55 years. Located in New Orleans Square, this iconic ride has inspired a blockbuster movie series and four additional Pirates of the Caribbean attractions around the world (Walt Disney World, Disneyland Paris, Tokyo Disneyland and Shanghai Disneyland). It's also my personal favorite attraction at Disneyland Park. In this podcast episode, we discuss the history of Pirates of the Caribbean (the original Disneyland version), including its design, story, music, and Imagineering, along with some fun facts, details, and an audio recording of the attraction (recorded in 2022). 1:12.4	to Disneyland. And so you're probably thinking about the Magic Kingdom version of this
1:18.1	attraction. And it's one that I did cover way back in 2018 of Imagineer podcast. But the Disneyland
1:25.5	version, which is the original version of this attraction,
1:29.0	was one of Walt's final attractions that he helped to personally oversee and develop.
1:35.6	And in my opinion, it is the best version of Pirates of the Caribbean around the world.
1:40.8	I haven't been to all of them. I have yet to get to Asia.
1:45.7	But of the Pirates of the Caribbean attractions that I have experienced, the Disneyland version is by far my favorite. And we'll
