Welcome, Good Squire Radio, I'm Bo. And I'm John David. J.D. Hey, Bo, good afternoon, man. Man, good afternoon to you, too, sir. How are you doing today? Man, I am doing okay. Do it all right. Still trying to figure out this whole, you know, how do you smoke a pipe with a mask on thing? But getting better, you know? I have seen creative solutions on the

0:38.5

internet. There's been all kinds of, there's no shortage of memes, you know what I mean?

0:43.8

How do you do anything with a mask on now, right? No, I know. Exactly. We're making it work,

0:48.6

man. It's been good. Our customers have been gracious. You know, we have our local ordinance, I guess,

0:55.9

as I may have mentioned last week, you know, we have to wear masks here in our state and in our local city, you know,

1:01.2

which is fine. Everyone's doing their little part to, you know, whatever, keep it up.

1:06.1

But what our restaurants are doing here locally is, you know, you have to, when you enter the establishment, you have to have your mask on, and then when you get to your table, you sit down, get to your table, then you can eat. Then you can remove your mask at that point. And so we're kind of following the same rules here at the shop. And, you know, social distancing and all that. So far, it seems to be working okay.

1:27.6

Everyone's healthy and just trying to truck along, man. Yeah, it's smart. Okay, yeah, that makes a lot of sense. You know, it's interesting. Since things started with the second surge, we really, you know, haven't gone out to eat at all. Still ordering food, you know, wanting to support the local businesses and that sort of thing, but doing more of the

1:45.0

you know the delivery service

1:46.8

and that sort of thing

1:47.3

but I was wondering about the, you know, because I see the restaurants say that they'll open up, but you also have to wear your mask. And I'm like, man, how does that? How does that work? Yeah, I think, I think it was like a robot chicken where Darth Vader was trying to like drink a like a milkshake and he was like, how is this going to work? And I was like, yeah, it's, yeah, anyway. That's all a robot chicken. I hadn't thought about that in a while. I actually got a haircut, which is if you, if you ever, if you haven't ever seen a photo of me, then you'll know it doesn't happen very often. No, it does not.

2:18.3

And when I say haircut, when I say haircut, Beau, I'm talking like, you know, I had like three inches taken off kind of thing. I mean, yeah. That's not too much for you. It's still below shoulder length. Yeah. I'm still a raging hippie. but when I went to get my haircut, the stylist at this place I go to, she said,

2:36.5

you have to keep your mask on. And I was like, well, how is this going to work? And she just very,

2:41.1

very carefully, very deftly kind of worked her way around the mask as she cut my hair. And for part of it,

2:48.2

I needed to remove one of the little ear loops. And so she asked if I would hold that half of my mask up while she removed the ear loop. And so, you know, if she can make it work, we can, we can figure out it. We can figure it out. We can make it. There's a path forward, man. Wow. That's, uh, that's great. Yeah, pretty wild. So anyway, what's going on to Houston, man? Are y'all doing okay? Yeah, we're doing good. We're doing good. Just, you know, just taking it a day at a time. You know, some days easier than others and some days not as easy as those. But we are doing our best to keep in high spirits. And, you know, one of the things I was reminded very recently i had a listener uh of a different

3:24.4

show right in although we've gotten several emails like this for this show but but recently i got

3:28.6

an email written in from a show that i've referenced before flash tv talk which is you know it was

3:33.7

about oh yeah yeah television series of flash and obviously there's no tv series to talk about so we're not

3:38.6

doing that podcast right now but but just somebody you you know, mentioned just with, you know, them being laid off work and everything. They've gone back and they know that we don't, you know, have new content that we can really talk about, but just how much it's meant to be able to listen in to some conversations and get kind of a sense of normalcy. I mean, the reality is, is, you know, despite the fact that right now we're taking off a lot of time to talk about it, you know, from a podcast standpoint, there's not a whole lot of, you know, direct impact for many of us that record remotely. I mean, you know, the experience is fairly the same. The content for all intensive purposes is fairly the same. And, you know, that kind of sense of normalcy, I think, you know, brings people a lot of comfort at least for a couple moments. So, yeah, I, I know, you know, it was just a nice reminder that what we do, I know it's, it's fun for us, man, we're able to get together and touch base with one another, but, you know, just recognizing that a lot of people, you know, this is one very small, seemingly insignificant way that we can actually serve our audience by hopefully providing a little, little moment of relaxation. So I want to thank everybody for joining us today. Man, we've got a, we got a great episode speaking of beautiful places to talk about this week. But first, we want to let everybody know, of course, if you're enjoying this podcast, you can help make it happen by heading over to patreon.com slash country squire radio, where you can join the Country Squire Radio International Pipe Club. And then also we want to let you know that we are putting out the call to those of you in your local communities. How are your pipe shops and pipe clubs getting through this time?

5:05.8

Like, what are some of the best practices that you're seeing? We want to put together kind of a
