Today we are looking at rules number seven and eight of discernment from the spiritual exercises

of St. Ignatius of Loyola.

Just two housekeeping items before we begin.

First, good news, the charity I run to keep my online ministry going, Peregrino Hermitage Limited. It has, as most of you know, been

recognized as a 501C3 charity organization for years, but the IRS just granted us on top of that

this summer the additional church status. So now we're also

considered as a church. My chapel, Stella Morris, continues to be recognized by my archdiocese.

But this upgraded governmental status means no more 990s. And all that means is that your

donations are now much more private. Of course, we're still going to continue to be transparent with you and the government, how money is used in general. And you can find

that on my website, but it means your donations are more private. Also, no one's really challenged me

on this, but I was thinking, with all the people out there talking about discernment of spirits,

why is Father Dave Nick's worth listening to? Well, there about discernment of spirits, why is Father

Dave Nix worth listening to? Well, there's a lot of reasons, but I think the number one reason

is I was Jesuit educated. I went to Regis Jesuit High School in Aurora, Colorado for four years.

Then I graduated Boston College, got to know good and bad Jesuits at both places. And then through

my normal diocesan Novosoro

Seminary, I had Jesuit spiritual directors. They were pretty good men. And we also went through

the 30-day silent retreat when I was in seminary. And so what I learned, especially as I had
