So hey, you guys, let's start off the show today talking about the staircase on HBO Max, which I'm finally caught up on.

I know Max is watching it.

And it's hard because there are so many channels and platforms now.

It's hard for everybody to watch everything.

But this one, this one is not really a new story.

It's based on the true story of Michael and Kathleen Peterson. Back in 2001, Kathleen Peterson was found dead at the bottom of the stairs in this

unbelievable mansion in Durham, North Carolina, where she lived with her husband, Michael. He was a novelist. She was

an executive for, I think, a mobile phone company, if I remember right. He was convicted of her

murder and went to prison. And it was such a wild trial. The first time it went, the first time he was tried and convicted it was it made

headlines around the world so much so that a documentary filmmaker from france who has an

Oscar like this is a really like like high level legitimate film company they were fascinated by

this story of this author who allegedly murdered his wife by pushing

her down the stairs.

They came and did a 13-part series for Netflix that leaves your jaw hanging open.

And you can still watch that on Netflix.

And in the course of making that documentary and the trial being prosecuted, a whole bunch of stuff from Michael Peterson's past came to light, like his first wife also had an unfortunate fatal fall down the stairs at their home in Germany, which, you know, could be a coincidence, but it's kind of a damning coincidence.
