Today should be back for Friday's show. I know it's not football, but you've got to be

floating on Cloud 9 right now. Yeah, baby. So I go to bed early because I'm an old man and I can't

stay awake. So apparently that whole news broke about Garrett Cole like at like 9 o'clock,

but I was already in bed and the phone was just charging.

Wake up this morning.

I got a text from Jerry O'Connell and it just says,

Cole, exclamation point.

I'm like, go to Twitter.

What happened?

$324 million.

Nine years. I am over the moon. I got to have something to be happy about. My fantasy teams are doing really good. My Cowboys suck. And now I got the Yankees getting Garrett Cole. We lost D.D.D. that kind of sucks. But Eddie. I mean, you know, but listen. I mean, you're in New York, you like the Giants, you know, your football team's not any good.

It's a weird time in New York, yeah. You have the Yankees sky high, the Giants like dealing with potential coach and GM firing and then you have like the Knicks. The Knicks or the Knicks are, I think are really at an all time low. Oh, man. Like you have the mean, not to get into hockey, the Rangers Rangers are a good young team, but still having some bumps and bruises. It's like a, it's a very strange time, but I mean, Yankees, the thing is like, and I tweeted this a little bit ago, if they, I understand they're back to the evil empire. We haven't won a championship in a decade. And so I get why they did, they had to do. And if they didn't do a cash and would have been ridiculed. Yeah. But part of me does wish that like Cole just went to like the Angels and the Eagles and the Eagles are the mediocre team. Listen. Why? Why? The socks are going to sell off parts. The Astros might get some kind of death penalty. And it's like if the Yankees kept Deity, I think they're still had a path of the world Series. I would have liked to be Cole and just one with the homegrown guys and the lower free agents, but I get why they did it. I'm happy with it, but I just, some of the

smartest people in baseball I've said that, that Garrickle was, was the biggest free agent

in the history of Major League Baseball.

I mean, the dollars had proven.

I mean, until the next biggest free year. Right, exactly. But for right now, yeah. So, I mean, I will say this, like, because I know the Dodgers were sort of in the running. I don't, I'm not really heartbroken that they didn't necessarily get them. I will say the Yankees sort of still have the same problem that the Dodgers do in the sense that neither one of those teams really manufactures runs.

And for all the pitching in the world, Lyft and Separate has shown that it doesn't necessarily win World Series titles. The Dodgers have struggled with that. The Yankees have struggled with that. So as a Dodger fan, I'm still, I'm still hoping and Anthony Rendon. Yank, you still have some pieces that, yeah. I don't disagree at all.
