So let's come up and you've got some decisions to make.

Some of those decisions are what you're going to do for Lent.

Here's one of the traps we almost always fall in.

We talked about this before but I think it's important to revisit some of these things

because at times we can fall into the trap of being way too, I'm going to say lenient

and way too whatever the opposite of lenient is strict.

Strict with our penances for Lent.

So we do something like, oh I'm going to do something that I don't even notice.

It might as well have said I'm going to eat watermelon or no watermelon for Lent just

like my sister and keep bringing it up because she did say it once and I think she should

not ever forget that's what she said she's going to do for Lent is give up watermelon.

Now we're mind her, we'll never make a video about Lent.

Before being way too strict which is basically like what is the hardest thing I can imagine

myself doing I'm going to do that for Lent because it's probably going to show that I really

really care about Lent and I'm going to really grow on Lent and I really love God because

I'm doing something that's really hard.

Now here's the problem.

The problem is not being lenient and the problem is not being strict.

The problem is a lot of times we choose something that's unnecessary.

We choose something or another way to say it is we're choosing something that's arbitrary

which is fine.
