| 0:00.0 | Ashley and we are here at the Chickies and Peets in Marlton, New Jersey, a half an hour before the Raiders are on the clock for the number one overall pick. |
| 0:09.0 | Bo Wolf E.J. Smith, the great. NFL draft analyst Fran Duffy is here to guide us through it. |
| 0:15.6 | We've got Brandon League out and waiting in the wings. We're going to do a little switching around as the night goes on. |
| 0:20.2 | We are here through the final pick of the first round. And of course we'll be back tomorrow night and on Saturday as well for a big night for the NFL and the Eagles. As they look to reshape this roster, a roster that is already loaded with very good first round picks. Let's see if Howie Roseman can do it again. E.J., let's start with you. What do you expect? What do you expect from Howie Roseman tonight? I think the good money, the safe money, is on offensive line, offensive tackle. In particular, who it is. I think it depends on who falls. So, you know, I think plan A for the Eagles tonight is to get a blue chip player at the offensive tackle position. Depends on how things play out over the course of the first round. Water gun to your heel. Okay. Trade up or not? Oh, trade up for sure. Okay. I think that, you know, there's a real chance that there's a run on offensive line. And, I mean, Howie Rose aggressive each like the last five seasons if you look at it they've traded up four of the last five first rounds in the NFL draft and even the year that they did it they traded up in the second round for cooper to gene so but i think that's instructive because that was probably their best run draft yep was the year that they were able to stay patient. Now, that draft was deeper than this one. |
| 1:29.9 | So they may not have the opportunity to do that this year. |
| 1:32.0 | If you are just now, like, tuning into the draft process. |
| 1:35.8 | Egos have the number 23 overall pick. |
| 1:37.6 | They've got a second rounder and two third rounders if they want to have some ammunition to move up. |
| 1:42.1 | They could also potentially deal from some future picks if they think that there are some more future picks coming their way in a potential A.J. Brown trade. They're going to get a third round pick from J.L. Phillips' comp pick, potentially. So Hire Roseman has some ammunition. Fran, you've been working the phones. You're dialed in. How high up do you think the Eagles could get tonight? You know, I would say that they could get into the top 15. You know, I do think it's possible if they felt really motivated to go up, if they fell in love with one of these tackles, if there's an early run, and I know we'll go through some scenarios here in the coming segments, but when you look at it, they could make a pretty substantial move up the board. |
| 2:19.3 | Now, I think it's more likely that they get into like the high teens, into 20, 21, something in that area, |
| 2:25.6 | but they absolutely could go as high as they basically want. |
| 2:28.3 | That is, I think the Howie Roseman history is instructive here. |
| 2:31.9 | Yeah. |
| 2:32.5 | Because, yes, he is always willing to move up to find his guys. I think we've talked about the Marcus Smith experience is kind of instructive there. He doesn't want to miss out on guys at the top tier. And he knows that he can recoup mid-round picks as the draft goes on. Yeah. But I also think that the history tells us that big move-ups in the first round, it is not kind. |
| 2:52.8 | And I think he is probably wary of that. |
| 2:55.3 | And so I am curious to see how he handles it tonight. |
| 2:58.4 | If we assume that he wants to move up for, let's call it one of the top four tackles. |
| 3:03.7 | Yep. |
| 3:04.3 | Caden Proctor, Monroe feeling the guys we expect to potentially be in range. That's presuming that Francis Maui Noah and Spencer Fano go early, right, Fran? I think that's right. And it really is going to come down to when the run starts at offensive tackle. And it could happen as early as number three, which is the Arizona Cardinals right now. It could happen number five, New York Giants. It could happen number six, Cleveland Brown. |
| 3:25.2 | So when that run starts, I think, will help inform how aggressive how he needs to get with trying to move up. All right, let's play a little bit of a game in terms of what you might want to be rooting for if you are an Eagles fan. So as you see picks coming off the board, what is good for the Eagles? So if you are under the impression that you should get one of those top four tackles, you're hoping for likely proctor or feeling to get in range for how I to move up, what are the things you're rooting for, Fran? Yeah, I mean, there are, look, at the end of the day, offensive line is a position in this class. We talked about it on the show. So this is a class where, you know, this is a weak group overall, but offensive tackle, a lot of profiles that everybody's excited about. And so I think there are a number of teams in the top 22 that are going to be looking at offensive line. And like I said, it could start early at number three. You go to number five, New York Giants, number six to Cleveland Browns. And if we're looking specifically at Maduro Freeling, the tackle from Georgia, or Caden Proctor, the tackle from Alabama, those are the two they're most likely to get within range for the Eagles. Now, both of those players, guys, have been attached to the Cleveland Browns throughout the process. So could the Browns go off the board and take one of those guys? |
| 4:31.6 | That is within the realm of possibility. There have been mock drafts where each of those guys |
| 4:35.3 | have gone number six to the Cleveland Browns. Now, it's probably more likely that the Browns |
