After Mackay Lemon became the newest Eagle last night,

the Eagles now set with three picks on day two,

including one in the second, two in the third. We're going to hear from Mikehail Lemon. You were there, E.J. How's everybody feeling about night two? I'm excited. This is what night two is one of my favorite, I mean, look. It's at least one of the three favorite days. All three days have their specific charm. And I think that teams that have the most amount of day, like the most amount of day two picks, it's usually the teams that you say like win the draft for more often than not. And so the fact that the Eagles right now have three selections, it's exciting. We'll see what they do. Well, how do you feel about day two, E.J.? I enjoy all days of the draft. I enjoy, I do. I enjoy all days of the draft. I enjoy day two

from a reporter's perspective because you get to hear from the first round pick more often than that. We heard from Mackay Lemon, which I enjoyed. It's good to meet him and see his family and kind of hear from him. I enjoy that aspect. And then that gives you some momentum going into the second round and the third round of the draft. So I enjoyed day two. All right. We are going to get

into all the players that we think could be possibilities here for the Eagles on day two, the positions, but also just is there somebody who could fall, all of that stuff, how we expect the early part of round two to break down. But let's start with Mikey Lemon here, in a little bit, we're going to hear from him. Having had a chance to digest it all, Fran, where do you stand on the Eagles moving up three spots, trading two fourth round picks for Mikhail Lemon to add to this offense? Yeah, the way that I've kind of after sleeping on it and kind of, you know, letting it stir over the course of the morning, I think where I've landed is that this was a player that throughout the course of the process was a little bit of a slow burn for me, an easy player to like, but a little bit of a hard one for me to fall in love with. But the reservations I had, it was more by the where I landed on it, I would say like post combine was, okay, if he goes to a system where he is

going to often be put in motion, he's going to be protected off the line of scrimmage, lots of stacks and bunches, and he doesn't have to be the guy in the offense. You know, if he goes to the Miami Dolphins and he's the immediate wide receiver one and, you know, maybe it's a little more static with how they use him, that scares me, right? But if he comes to this offense where you

already have Devante Smith and you know maybe it's a little more static with how they use him that scares me right but if he

comes to this offense where you already have devante smith and you you're going to be able to run the football and you're going to keep him in motion you're going to do all these things that we expect sean mannion to bring to the offense i feel really good about it and i would have felt that way if he went to the rams i would have felt that way if he went to the niners you go down the list uh if he He went to the Vikings, I would have liked that.

So the fact that he landed in this situation, I would have felt that way if he went to the Niners, you go down the list. If he went to the Vikings, I would have liked that. So the fact that he landed in this situation, I'm good with it. And to me, I think that's how you can maximize his ultimate upside. How about you, E.J? Yeah, the thing that started to come front of mine for me as I drove home from the Jefferson Health Complex last night. Are you getting paid by them? Because you're really hitting that one hard.

I'm trying to like burn it.

Yeah.

I'm trying to like have the repetition so I don't say no. You see the Eagles Complex. It's fine. Yeah, okay. That's fair. Yeah, that's fair. I mean, I don't know. You know what? I think it's fine to say what it is. whatever you want.

I'm trying to get it committed to memory.

As I was driving home from the Eagles complex last night, the thing that became front of mind for me is the strengths of Mackay Lemon don't necessarily align with the way the Eagles played offense last season. Yeah. But they align with the way that we expect the Eagles offense to look next year. And I think, you know, this is another step

toward what the Eagles offense has to do in terms of evolution. And frankly, what Jalen Hertz has to do in terms of evolution. You know, McCoy Lemon is a player that finds a soft spot in zone. He works well over the middle of the field. He works well. It seems on the outside of the numbers as well, but he is not the type of player that you want to line up and say, go win your matchup. He is the type of player that you want to be creative with. And his strengths really do, if you can be creative with him, compliment what you can do with a player like that. He is reliable with his hands. He's good after the catch. He's got a physicality. I think all of the things that the Eagles like about him are valid. I think that they are just going to have to use him differently than we've seen them use a receiver. So it is a projection for that reason. He is a player who you need to have a plan for. Yeah, right? It's not just, as you have said, just go line up and win. He has to be a part of the way that you are designing the offense and getting him in, you know, advantageous situations.

And we said it last night, it is now like fully on board.

There better be a lot of motion in this offense.
