The important thing about a teacher is that he's showing progress, not that he's arrived.

If I had to arrive, I would never be able to teach the Bible.

Isn't that the truth? None of us would ever teach if we had to have had it all figured out. But if I can say, look, I didn't understand this work.

But next week, last week I didn't accept it in the eye, I understood it.

That encourages students to say, well, well, I'll keep going.

I might understand more.

Whereas if, okay, I've got the last word, this is what it is all the time,

then people say, well, I won't read the Bible, I'll just go and ask him.
