On today's program, Joyce will be teaching from the Book of Philippians.

We all desire to have more joy in our lives, but there are many things that can easily discourage us.

God has given us tools in His Word to overcome this disappointment.

One of those tools is the Book of Philippians.

It is full of principles for living a victorious Christian life.

It also contains practical advice for everyday living, and most of all, it's a book about joy.

Be encouraged as Joyce teaches from Philippians, chapter by chapter, and guides us deeper into the Word.

Now, here's Joyce with today's teaching.

In 1 Corinthians 6,19 and 20, he said,

Are do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God?

You are not your own.

Going back to this thing about servanthood from it, John chapter 13, the first 17 verses are a favorite part in the Bible for me.

It's where Jesus washes disciples feet.

And I love in the beginning it says knowing where he came from and knowing where he was going, he put on a servant's towel.

So you can't truly serve if you don't know who you are.

Because if you're trying to find out who you are, you're going to think it's based on what you do or who you know or how you dress or how much money you have or what side of town you live on.

But when you really know who you are, then even a leader can lay aside his leadership long enough to wash some feet.

And then pick it back up and do what he's supposed to do.

And that washing feet just basically signifies helping.

What does it mean to wash feet in practicality?

Just to help, just to help.
