Father Stephen is a former Protestant pastor and Bible teacher in the Reformed Church, but

now an Orthodox priest serving at Archangel Gabriel Orthodox Church in Lafayette,

Louisiana. Chapter 3, verse 1.

Finally, my brethren, I like how St. Paul begins like halfway through the epistle with,

finally.

Sort of like how halfway, about halfway through liturgy, we say,

let us complete our prayer unto the Lord.

Yeah.

Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord, for me to write the same things to you is not tedious,

but for you it is safe.

They're adding words to try to make sense of that. But, um, so the,

the idea there is he's already told them to rejoice to the Lord about 15 times. Right.

We've read this, this epistle. That's one of his sort of key words. So he says, he tells them,

finally, rejoice in the Lord. And he's saying, yeah, I know I'm, I'm repeating, I'm

repeating myself. He says, it's not tedious to me to say this to you over and over again. And you

need to hear it. That's what that thing they're translating is safe is. Right. This is something you need

to hear. This is something that is good for you to hear.

Verse two, beware of dogs.

Beware of evil workers. Beware of the mutilation. That's dire. Right? That sounds like some metal lyrics right there um so he's not talking about literal

dogs by the way when he says beware of dog right he's not he's not he's yeah right
