Olympians chapter four. Two verses today, verses 17 and 18. I think you'll see why here shortly.

If you're not there, I'll ask you to turn there. And once you do, if you're able, would you please stand?

You can follow along with me as I read. The Apostle Paul, by the Holy Spirit, is writing to this church in Philippi

and very candidly talking to them about the topic of giving. And he says to them, verse 17,

not that I desire your gifts.

What I desire is that more be credited to your account.

I have received, verse 18, full payment and have more than enough. I am amply supplied now that I have received from Epaphroditus,

the gifts that you sent. They are a fragrant offering and acceptable sacrifice pleasing to God.

We'll ask God's blessing on our understanding.

Loving Heavenly Father, we are so thankful to you for your word and for our time together today here in your word.

Lord, we're looking to you, the author, today here in your word.

Lord, we're looking to you, the author and the finisher of our faith, to speak into our lives

in and through this portion that we have before us today. Lord, I pray that we would be open, that we would have open ears to hear and open hearts to receive

even if it makes us uncomfortable.

Lord, I pray that the Holy Spirit would convict, not condemn, convict,

convict, exhort, even if necessary rebuke.

So Lord speak, your servants are listening. In Jesus' name, amen. And amen. You can be seated. Thank you.

the only time when we teach through the word and study the word expositionally book by book and

chapter by chapter and verse by verse the only time we talk about money is when there's a place in God's word where we're at

that God's word talks about money.
