The Bible Study Podcast, episode 803. Today, the Bible Study podcast continues to study of Philippians with the second part of chapter three.

Welcome to the Bible Study podcast. I'm your host, Chris Christensen. We left off with chapter 14, so we're going to continue on with following Paul's example.

All of us, then, who are mature, should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too, God will make clear to you. Only let us live up to what we have

already attained. Join together in following my example, brothers and sisters, just as you have us

as a model, keep your eyes on those who live as we do. For as I have often told you, and now tell

you again, even with tears, many live as enemies of

the cross of Christ.

Their destiny is destruction, their God is their stomach, and their glory is their shame.

Their mind is set on earthly things, but our citizenship is in heaven.

And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ,

who by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our

lowly bodies so that we will be like his glorious body. So jumping back to the beginning of that,

all of this then, again, whenever you see the

then, let's pause and see what that then is all about. And so he was talking about having no

confidence in the flesh, having no confidence in the flesh and talking about the Judaizers

who are trying to get everybody to be circumcised and to become Jewish and to obey the laws as if there were

righteousness in the law. And Paul said, I could have done that. I was very much, very Jewish.

I was following all the laws, but I consider that rubbish when it comes to compared to my faith

in Jesus and what Jesus has done. So he says, okay then, then we who are mature

should take such a view of things.

And so he is treating them as if they were mature Christians,

and hopefully the are mature Christians.
