Calvary Church is dedicated to doctrine, and we want you to experience the life change that comes from knowing God's word and applying it to your life.

So we explain the Bible first by verse, every chapter, every book, this is expound.

How many of you brought a Bible tonight?

Do you have enough light to read it?

That will change throughout the night, but as we have light, let's make our way over to Philippians Chapter 2.

If you remember from last week where we ended, we don't really have much to go. So this probably will not be a long service. But you know what?

You never know, right? So we are in chapter two. We're going to backtrack just a little bit for context, and then we'll move on, but let's have a word of prayer.

Father, we calm our hearts before you.

Even though we are outdoors and we're by a main thoroughfare,

the sound of worship has prepared our hearts.

The sound of water calms our hearts.

And we know that more than anything else, we're in your presence,

because we're two or three are

gathered you promise to be in their midst. Lord I pray you would give us a hunger, a thirst for the

truths of scripture, not just to know them, but to be conformed by them.

Lord, we do pray a special blessing not only for VBS,

but are 40 kids who are in route to England to do evangelism.

On the streets and in getting ready for Franklin's event, evangelistic event, bless them, strengthen them.

And, Father, we pray for divine appointments for them.

In Jesus' name. Amen.

So you remember that Paul wrote this book from a prison in Rome. He writes to the Philippians.

He has a two-year prison sentence. He is waiting to stand before Caesar Nero to find out if he's going to lose his head or if he's going to live. And we made it through chapter one where he talks about that.
