Hi there. This is Mary Demuth and this is Pray Every Day where I have the joy and privilege of praying you through the Bible verse by verse on this 21st day of October. I hope this finds you well and joyful and counting your blessings. I know that that is such a cliche thing to say, but it's so important. Maybe today is the day that you sit down and you write down some of the things that God has done recently that you can be grateful for.

There's so much.

We have breath and life, and I am thankful for that.

As long as I'm on this earth, I've got something to do for the sake of the kingdom.

So today I'm reading from Philemon,

and then we're going to go to Jeremiah tomorrow. And there's only one chapter in

Philemon. So it's Philemon Chapter 1, which is the whole book in the World English Bible. This is

what it says. Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus and Timothy our brother, to Philemon, our beloved fellow

worker, to the beloved Afia, to Archipus our fellow soldier, and to the assembly in your house,

grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

I thank my God always making mention of you and my prayers, hearing of your love and of the faith which you have toward the Lord Jesus and toward all the saints,

that the fellowship of your faith may become effective in the knowledge of every good thing which is in us in Christ Jesus.

For we have much joy and comfort in your love because the hearts of the saints have

been refreshed through you, brother.

Therefore, though I have all boldness in Christ to command you that which is appropriate,

yet for love's sake I rather appeal to you, being such a one as Paul the aged, but also

a prisoner of Jesus Christ.

I appeal to you for my child, Onisimus, who I have become father of in my chains,

who once was useless to you, but now is useful to you and to me.

I am sending him back.

Therefore, receive him, that is, my own heart, whom I desire to keep with me that on your
