Today's guest is a sociology lecturer at the University of Albany for the past six years.

He teaches introduction to sociology, social problems, race and ethnicity, research methods

and the sociology of sports.

He holds a master's degree in applied science, research, and a bachelor's and rhetoric

and communications.

So Phil, we're going into a territory here on our podcast Pop Bear Hikes that's a little

new for us.

We're talking about an aspect of the outdoors that we have yet to touch on.

So before we do that, could you tell us a little bit about yourself?

Yeah, I have a background in sports.

I played sports like a lot of my friends did in New York City.

It was almost required that you did.

So I played a lot of sports.

And then when I went to college, I had a university at Albany where I now teach.
