Good Thursday, Danny joining me in studio for our first segment here to talk about Philly and Boston.

Got a lot more coming up after that, got some news to get to and finishing up our awards,

the Games of the Month of December, Dunks of the Year so far as well to talk about.

But let's hit on this 109-98 Sixers victory. Boston sees control early in the second quarter,

but then Philly inexorably came back, Boston only 43 points in the second half.

I think that's probably where I would start here is that Philly's defense against what's

been a pretty good offense looked really good despite Joel and Bied for one of the first times

this year or despite Joel and Bied being out for one of the first times this year.

Yeah and Bied, that was news that came out since we recorded the earlier part of the show.

He's going to miss, I would say a couple weeks with this, he had surgery to fix a ligament issue

with that left hand related to the injury that was gross on national television about a week ago.

And yeah, the Sixers defense looked good and you brought this up during the cast and I thought

this was a really good point that the trio of Gordon Hayward, Jason Tatum and Jalen Brown,

it felt intuitively like they would have much more of an advantage without that regular

intimidating at the rim of Joel and Bied and they didn't none of those three had particularly

good games. Tatum, four of 13 from the field missed all but one of his threes. He did have six of

the Celtics only eight free throws I want to get to that later, but Jalen Brown, two at 12,

Gordon Hayward, four of 11 and it's not like they were breaking a ton of open shots. These were

well good contests they weren't getting great looks. Yeah, generally one of those three guys,

if not more than one are going to have a size advantage at their position that they can attack

and I thought Hayward just was rushing his threes just a little bit. Some of his mid-rangeers

wasn't quite able to get those out. I mean they're capable of making these shots, you know,
