Welcome back to Pursuing Health. This is episode number 18 and here I sit down with Scott Panchick four-time Crosspit Games competitor as well as his father and co-owner of their gym

Cross Fit mentality Dave. This is one of my favorite episodes thus far. I

really enjoyed our conversation and I think when you

listen to it you'll realize too that they have something really special going on

at their affiliate cross-fit mentality. So some background before he get started.

Scott alongside his siblings has always been very active and he played football at the

University of Mount Union where he studied health and physical education.

There he was on two national

championship winning teams and he earned academic all-American honors. He then

went on to teach health and physical education for a couple of years at Mentor High School, where he also ran the school's strength and conditioning program, and he coached wrestling and football.

It was during that time that his father Dave introduced him to Cross Fit and he began training for the Cross Fit Games.

He's known as one of the most consistent male competitors, placing fourth at the Games in 2012 and 13,

5th in 2014, and taking 6th place this past year despite battling a serious

foot injury.

A couple of years ago, Dave made the decision to retire from teaching elementary school and move

from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to mentor Ohio with the rest of the Panchick family to open a

crossfit affiliate with Scott. Since that time the Pjic family has been working together to build
