This week’s Politics Guys starts off with reviews of Iowa picks from the last show. Jay and Mike more or less nailed it for their respective parties but they both missed on the other side, making for a very solid aggregate prediction. They pat themselves on the back a little and then talk about how … Continue reading "PG40: Iowa Review, NH Predictions, Drafting Women, Does Kasich want to ‘Tear Down The Wall’?"Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-politics-guys/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy Learn more about your ad choices. Good morning. Good afternoon. Good evening, wherever you are. And welcome to the politics guys with your host, Jay Carson and Michael Baranowski.

0:17.3

Welcome to the politics guys. I'm Michael Baranowski, a political scientist at Northern Kentucky University.

0:23.4

My co-host this week, as always, is Cleveland Area Attorney and sometime Republican strategist Jay Carson.

Our top story this week is the state of the presidential nominating contest, nearly a week after Iowa and only days before New Hampshire votes in the

0:38.4

nation's first primary. Now, last week on the show, I predicted that in Iowa, Clinton would win by

0:43.5

1% over Sanders and that Trump would beat Cruz by 3%. A Jay, on the other hand, said that he thought

1:27.7

It would have been the cruise just by a nose.

1:30.7

And I underestimated Bernie Sanders.

1:34.8

You know, I think, you know, we've talked for a while also about part of the game

1:40.3

isn't so much even the winning.

1:41.6

It's the meeting or exceeding expectations.

1:45.2

And I think Cruz and Sanders both exceeded expectations. And that's a big thing. I think,

1:53.2

I think Rubio also exceeded expectations. The most, I would say, which is why if you listen to

1:58.2

his speech after, essentially, Rubio gave a victory speech for
