Welcome to the sleep story of Peter, Prison and the Angel, from the Book of Acts.

As you fall asleep, may Peter's rescue encourage you that God can rescue you from any bad situation.

Even if your life seemed unfair today, know that your father in heaven is working for your

good.

Now shift your mind away from today's tasks and worries.

Just soak in God's presence and get comfortable.

Rest your head softly on the pillow close your eyes and relax breathe

in God's peace and breathe out your troubles begin to drift off and if you fall asleep before I finish, all the better.

God is present, even while you dream, too.

So just let go of any worries and troubles.

Hand them over to God.

And receive his promise from the book of Psalms.

The angel of the Lord camps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.

Join me now in prayer, dear God, let your peace fill your child's heart and mind as they

rest.

As they fall asleep now, may your Holy Spirit guide their dreams.

Give them faith and courage, just as you gave Peter faith and courage while he was in prison.

You were faithful to Peter, and I believe that you will be faithful to this sleeping

child as well. Thank you for surrounding and protecting them with your angels. As you say in

Psalm chapter 91, the angel of the Lord is a guard. He surrounds and defends all who fear you now renew this

child as they rest in you fill them with your trust bring them joy and strength for

tomorrow in Jesus name, amen.
