That's right, sports fans, in the wake of the not completely out of nowhere, but still sudden and staggeringly rapid fire implosion of Eric Swalwell's campaign for the California

governorship, a campaign in which some polls had him as the Democratic frontrunner, if just barely,

followed by Swalwell's unceremonies exit from the House of Representatives and his entry into a legal,

professional, and personal hellscape for which he has only himself to blame.

It was abundantly clear that the guest we absolutely needed for the show today was Hamby.

My partner at Puck, musical running buddy, and one of the most crucial political lifelines I maintained to the state where I was born.

And so we fired up the puck super friend bat signal and Peter, as always, answered the call,

going deep on Swalwell's standing in the race, which was shakier that it looked,

his tenuous to non-existent case for being governor, his tendencies towards wanton starfuckery,

the evidently darker characterological flaws that brought his career crashing down in a heap,

the impact of his departure from the race, which of the remaining candidates has most to gain

from it, and which rival campaign might have aided and abetted in the disclosure of the news that ruined him.

Then, putting not one but two cherries on top of this particular political Sunday,

Peter also weighs in on the POTUS versus Pontifex cage match that has Catholics around the

country and the world at once wide-eyed and aghast, and on what Peter saw.

And more to the point, what Peter heard last weekend at Coachella that pricked up his ears

and brightened his life while leaving yours truly green with envy.
